Daniel Chu

Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Tricolor Holdings

Daniel Chu currently serves as Founder and CEO of Tricolor Holdings, a tech-enabled Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and the nation’s largest used-vehicle retailer and lender for the Hispanic consumer, based in Dallas, Texas.

Tricolor has successfully served over 75,000 customers and disbursed over $1billion in affordable auto loans using its proprietary AI-powered model to segment risk and advance financial inclusion within a highly underserved market. The Company is the only lender in all of consumer auto asset-backed securities to issue an investment grade bond with loans originated to credit invisible borrowers. Tricolor and its affiliate, Ganas Auto Group, operate over 40 retail dealerships across fourteen markets in Texas, California, and Nevada with a shared services center in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The Company has been named one of the top entrepreneurial companies in America by Entrepreneur magazine for two consecutive years and received the Auto Finance News Award of Excellence for Technology in 2019. It has also been named a finalist by both LendIt and Finovate for Excellence in Financial Inclusion. Tricolor has been recognized by Inc. magazine for five consecutive years as one of America’s fastest growing companies and regionally as one of the ten fastest growing privately held companies in the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Chu has distinguished himself as a successful serial entrepreneur, having founded six companies over the past thirty years, including two other firms in the auto financial services industry which became publicly traded. He has served as CEO of seven different companies in total. Prior to his career as an entrepreneur and business leader, Chu coached basketball at the intercollegiate level for seven years.

Chu earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He also holds a M.S. degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Miami.
